Observing, Understanding and Responding to Arctic Change
INTERACT Non-Profit Association and the Mission of Monaco to the EU will host an evening event on the 4th of December 2024, at 18:00 CET (Townhall Europe - Sq. de Meeûs 5-6, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium), followed by reception.
After 25 years of connecting 96 research stations, supporting thousands of researchers, and collaborating with Indigenous communities, the EU-funded International Network for Terrestrial Research and Monitoring in the Arctic (INTERACT) project will formally transition to the INTERACT Non Profit Association (INPA), a key step in addressing Arctic challenges beyond short-term funding.
The event “Observing, Understanding and Responding to Arctic Change” will focus on how the INTERACT network can play a concrete role in tackling the pressing challenges of climate change in the Arctic. Attendees will hear about what has been achieved so far, followed by a dynamic panel discussion featuring experts in ground-based research, remote sensing, Indigenous knowledge, funding, and policy. The discussion will explore practical strategies and initiatives for responding to the Arctic's evolving challenges.
The evening will conclude with a reception, offering a valuable opportunity for attendees to network with panelists and fellow participants, exchanging ideas on the future of Arctic cooperation.
